How to arrange sacraments and parish matters
Baptism
Baptism of a child must be reported in person at the parish office. During the registration, the date of baptism is agreed upon, and basic information about the child and parents is provided. Parents should also prepare information about the godparents. If the godparents are not from our parish, a certificate of eligibility from their parish priest may be required. We recommend registering for baptism at least several weeks in advance.
First Holy Communion
Registration of children for preparation for First Holy Communion takes place at the beginning of the school year, according to parish announcements. Parents fill out an application form and provide the necessary information. The preparation includes catechesis, organizational meetings, and participation on specified dates. Parents are informed in advance of all important dates.
Confirmation
Those interested in the sacrament of Confirmation register during the period published in parish announcements. Registration requires filling out an application form and providing the required personal data. During the preparation period, participants must attend meetings, catechesis, and other activities according to the schedule. Before receiving the sacrament, fulfillment of the preparation requirements is verified.
Sacrament of Marriage
Betrothed couples should register at the parish office at least three months before the planned wedding date. At the first meeting, the date is agreed upon, the marriage record is drawn up, and further steps are explained. It is necessary to submit the required documents according to church and, if applicable, civil regulations. Premarital instruction is usually part of the preparation. We recommend not postponing arrangements until the last minute.
Funeral
In the event of a funeral, it is necessary to contact the parish office as soon as possible to arrange the date of the funeral rites. The family subsequently provides basic information about the deceased and agrees on the form of the rite. If a funeral service is organizing the funeral, it is advisable to coordinate the date with them as well. When processing the arrangements, we recommend bringing all necessary documents as instructed by the parish office.
Sacrament of Reconciliation
Confession is held regularly before Masses or at times listed in parish announcements. Special confession times are usually scheduled before major feasts. If someone needs the sacrament of reconciliation outside regular hours, they can make an individual arrangement at the parish office.
Anointing of the Sick
If the sacrament of Anointing of the Sick needs to be administered at home, in a hospital, or in another facility, contact the parish office by phone or in person. When reporting, it is advisable to provide the sick person's name, address, phone contact, and a brief description of their health condition. In urgent cases, please call immediately without delay.
Visitation of the Sick
Sick and elderly parishioners can be registered for regular or one-time visits by a priest. Registration requires providing the name, address, and contact information for the family or caregiver. If it is for regular visits on the First Friday or before feasts, we recommend registering the sick person in advance so they can be included in the visitation list.
Certificates and Official Matters
At the parish office, you can request various certificates, transcripts, and administrative actions related to sacraments and parish records. We recommend visiting during office hours and checking in advance what information or documents will be required. For more complex matters, it is advisable to arrange a meeting in advance.
Parish Office
All sacraments and parish matters are handled in person during office hours, or by prior arrangement. Before visiting the parish office, we recommend checking current announcements or calling to verify the procedure for a specific request. This avoids unnecessary waiting and incomplete documentation.
Before Visiting the Parish Office
We recommend preparing basic personal data and necessary documents in advance, and checking office hours or specific procedures by phone. For sacraments and time-sensitive events, it is advisable to contact us well in advance.
